Welcome to our site! We are keeping this simple.
We are an organization that is concerned about the decision made by the Raymond Planning Board to renew an excavation permit for Thibeault Corporation, a company that was granted this permit in 2005 without proper notification to the abutters at the time of the permit request.
NOTICE: On February 11, 2010, the Raymond Planning Board voted 4-1 to deny the Thibeault Sand and Gravel application for quarry operations. After several years of hearings and testimony for and against this project, the members of the Upper Lamprey Neighbors Group are pleased that the Board was able to analyze the facts and make the right decision.
The property under review is located along the Lamprey River and Route 27 in Raymond, NH.
The property, owned by the Thibeault Corporation, has been virtually dormant since 2005 when Thibeault applied for a permit with the Town of Raymond to excavate and transport gravel. Some of the direct abutters of this property were not informed of the permit request back in 2005, nor made aware that the town approved this permit request.
The Rockingham County Court has agreed with our position and ruled that the excavation permit be vacated. This has resulted in Thibeault Corporation coming forward and asking for a new permit for quarry operation only. We are now watching and participating in the process to ensure that this operation takes into consideration the concerns of the abutters in town as well as the protection of the town's future water supply located under the site.
